Serious assaults/Criminal injuries
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (‘CICA’) is an organisation, which was set up by the Government to compensate innocent victims of a violent crime. A serious assault can leave you with both physical and mental injuries.
In this situation, to be eligible to claim personal injury compensation you must report the accident to the Police as soon as you can following the assault and thereafter co-operate fully with them. Even if the assailant is not convicted or identified for the assault against you, you may still be entitled to an award of compensation.
CICA claims can be pursued by you personally but our personal injury lawyers can however provide expert advice in this domain and we are here every step of the way to help you make a compensation claim to achieve the maximum amount of compensation to which you are entitled.
By working in conjunction with medical experts, rehabilitation providers, barristers, engineers and charities (to name but a few) we can provide you with the support and assistance you need in all areas of your life.
If you have sustained injury as a result of an assault and you want to claim for compensation our personal injury lawyers are here to help you.
*Unfortunately the CICA do not pay fees incurred by your legal representative, so if the CICA accept your claim and awards you compensation, you would need to have entered into an Agreement (known as a ‘conditional fee agreement’) to pay us costs up to a capped amount of 25% plus VAT of your compensation awarded plus any agreed disbursements.
If you would like to talk to someone about your CICA claim please call us on 0161 926 9969 or Email us now at info@mlpsolicitors.co.uk for a free, no obligation consultation with one of our expert Personal Injury Lawyers at Myers Lister Price Solicitors, Manchester.
